Raspberries and blueberries are the bonanza fruit of the day, flying out of supermarkets in teeny boxes at super prices. The market is so hot that both domestic production and imports are growing and - in defiance of usual market economics - supply, demand and price are all at record highs.

Sounds Like A Lot Of Hot Air. Right?
Who knows what the future will bring: scientists in Europe are exploring the concept of using refrigerated warehouses as giant nighttime batteries. "Night Wind" project studies how electrical power harvested by wind turbines can, in effect, be stored in warehouses during the off-peak night hours.

Chicago Construction Picks Up Pace



Construction of the new Chicago Consolidation Center is on schedule for a late summer Phase 1 opening. The 14,500,000 cu. ft. facility will be used primarily as a collaborative consolidation point for refrigerated and frozen foods distributed via Hanson’s growing Multi Vendor Consolidation Program. Gridlock On The Lake
By neglecting its transport system, Chicago is gambling with its future

As a thriving midwestern city, Chicago is still the beating heart of much of America's industry. But its arteries—both road and rail—are increasingly clogged. A report released earlier this month by Illinois's auditor, William Holland, highlighted some chronic glitches in the network of buses and commuter trains. The region also needs a better approach to highways and rail freight.
