First and foremost, well be breaking ground in March on Phase II of our flagship Chicago Consolidation Center. As youll read, we are adding nearly 3,000,000 cu. ft. of refrigerated space, which translates into 7,800 new pallet positions. The real story here is the continued success of this location, service offered, and top-flight crew; all of which make Hobart a valuable DC in our clients' supply chain. Our Velocities Consolidation Program is gaining solid traction especially among food manufacturers unable to build truckload shipments alone. Velocities not only helps rein in LTL costs; the collaborative loads consolidated in Hobart reduce carbon footprint per delivery, an issue foremost in everyone's minds in this day and age. We welcome Omaha Steaks and appreciate the trust theyve instilled in Hanson teammates managing and making final mile deliveries to their 21 Midwest retail stores. In addition to these activities on the fulfillment end of the supply chain, our commitment to the grower community remains steadfast. Our expansion in Hartford, MI is complete, with additional plans in the queue for a full capacity build out as the need arises. Additionally, we are in the process of a major refrigeration upgrade at our Hart, MI facility. Energy costs and efficiencies are at the top of our priority list and this project is yet another example of our continued investment in this area. We want to thank Joe Mitchell for his 11 years of service to our organization, and wish him and his wife Jane many happy years in retirement. Well keep you posted on our continuing efforts to bring Hanson Logistics Yes, We Can! service to every corner of the cold supply chain. Andy |
